Meaning
One who remains unperturbed in mind even amidst the three types of afflictions, or who does not rejoice in happiness, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady mind or “Sthitadhi Muni”.
Description
A “Sthitadhi Muni”—a sage of steady wisdom—is one who has transcended the stage of Shushk-chintan (dry speculative thinking). Such a person is known as a sage of a steady mind. They, fully absorbed in Krishna consciousness, remain completely undisturbed by the onslaught of the three types of material miseries (Adhyatmik, Adhibhoutik, Adhidaivik); for they accept these tribulations as the mercy of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, consider themselves deserving of even greater suffering due to their past sins, and perceives that, by the Krishna's grace, their actual distress has been reduced to a mere trifle. Similarly, when they experience happiness, they consider themselves unworthy of such pleasure and attribute the credit for it entirely to Bhagwan Shri Krishna. A person firmly established in Krishna consciousness harbours neither attachment nor aversion, for their entire life is dedicated to the service of Krishna. One who is fully conscious of Krishna remains unwavering in his “Focus and Resolve”.
