जुग सहस्त्र जोजन पर भानू।

लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू।।

अर्थ

यह दोहा गौस्वामी तुलसीदास द्वारा रचित श्री हनुमान चालीसा से लिया गया है। इसमें पृथ्वी से सूर्य की दूरी का वर्णन मिलता है।

दोहे के हर एक शब्द के अर्थ को वैदिक ज्योतिष गणित के आधार पर ऐसे समझिए :—

जुग ( युग)= 12000 वर्ष

एक सहस्त्र= 1000

एक जोजन (योजन) = 8 मील

भानु= सूर्य

युग x सहस्त्र x योजन—पर भानु—अर्थात पृथ्वी से सूर्य की दूरी।

12000 x 1000 x 8 मील = 96000000 मील।

एक मील= 1.6 किलोमीटर 

96000000 x 1.6= 153600000 किलोमीटर

इससे हम समझ सकते हैं कि गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी ने श्री हनुमान चालीसा में स्पष्ट रूप से बता दिया था कि सूर्य और पृथ्वी के बीच की दूरी लगभग 15 करोड़ किलोमीटर है।

Meaning

This couplet has been taken from Shri Hanuman Chalisa written by Gauswami Tulsidas. It tells about the distance of the Sun from the Earth.

The meaning of one word in couplet can be understood on the basis of Vedic astrology like this-

jug ( yug) = 12000 Years 

ek sahastra = 1000

one jojan (Yojan) = 8 miles 

bhaanu = Sun

yug x sahastra x yojan —par bhaanu—means the distance of Sun from Earth.

12000 x 1000 x 8 meel = 96000000 miles.

one mile = 1.6 km

96000000 x 1.6 = 153600000 km

From this we can understand that Goswami Tulsidas ji had clearly told that the distance between the Sun and the Earth is approximately 15 crore kilometers.
