इति ते ज्ञानमाख्यातं गुह्याद्गुह्यतरं मया।

विमृश्यैतदशेषेण यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु॥63॥

अर्थ

भगवान कृष्ण अर्जुन से कहते हैं, "इस प्रकार मैंने तुम्हें यह ज्ञान दे दिया है, जो सभी रहस्यों से भी अधिक रहस्यमयी है। इस पर  पूर्ण रूप से विचार करो और फिर तुम जैसा चाहो, वैसा ही करो। 

व्याख्या

"यह श्लोक दिखाता है कि ईश्वर कभी भी अपनी बात थोपते नहीं हैं, बल्कि वे ज्ञान देकर व्यक्ति को स्वयं सही निर्णय लेने की स्वतंत्रता देते हैं।

सनातन धर्म की सबसे गहरी बातों में से एक यह है कि यह कभी भी आँख बंद करके मानने (अंध-आज्ञापालन) की माँग नहीं करता। सबसे ऊँचा ज्ञान देने के बाद, कृष्ण अर्जुन को किसी भी नियम का पालन करने का आदेश नहीं देते। इसके बजाय, वे उसे सोचने, सवाल करने, सही-गलत को समझने और फिर यह उसे स्वयं तय करने के लिए कहते हैं कि क्या करना है। सच किसी पर थोपा नहीं जाता। इसे करुणा के साथ पेश किया जाता है और केवल समझकर ही अपनाया जाता है। ईश्वर चुनने की आज़ादी छीनते नहीं हैं; बल्कि उसका सम्मान करते हैं।

यह श्लोक बताता है कि अपनी मर्ज़ी से चुनने की आज़ादी (free will) अपने आप में एक पवित्र उपहार है। ईश्वर रास्ता दिखा सकते हैं, लेकिन वे कभी भी यात्रा करने के लिए मजबूर नहीं करते। हर विचार, एहसास, और कार्य तभी सार्थक होता है जब वह इंसान की अपनी अंदरूनी स्पष्टता से पैदा हो। ज्ञान से अच्छे विवेक का निर्माण होता है। अच्छे विवेक से व्यक्ति अपनी जीवन दशा को बेहतर बना सकता है। जागरूकता के साथ लिया गया फ़ैसला धर्म बन जाता है, जबकि मजबूरी में किया गया वही काम सिर्फ़ आज्ञापालन बनकर रह जाता है। कृष्ण जागरूक भागीदारी चाहते हैं, न कि मशीनी अनुयायी।

शायद इसीलिए भगवद गीता हमेशा प्रासंगिक बनी हुई है। यह हर काल और युग में प्रासंगिक है। यह नियमों की किताब नहीं है, बल्कि एक वार्ता है जो ज्ञान, जागरूकता, आत्म-चिंतन और समझ के ज़रिए बुद्धि को जगाती है। सबसे महान गुरु समझ पैदा करते हैं, निर्भरता नहीं। अस्तित्व के सबसे गहरे रहस्यों को उजागर करने के बाद भी, कृष्ण अंतिम निर्णय अर्जुन पर छोड़ देते हैं। अंतिम चुनाव व्यक्ति का ही होता है। असली बदलाव तब नहीं आता जब हमें बताया जाता है कि क्या करना है, बल्कि तब आता है जब सच हमारा अपना अनुभव बन जाता है।

Meaning

Bhagwan Krishna says to Arjuna, "Thus, I have imparted to you this knowledge, which is the most confidential of all secrets. Reflect upon it fully, and then do as you wish." 

Description

This verse demonstrates that God never imposes His will; instead, by imparting knowledge, He grants the individual the freedom to make the right decision for themselves.

One of the most profound aspects of Sanatana Dharma is that it never demands blind obedience. After revealing the highest wisdom, Krishna does not command Arjuna to follow any commandments. Instead, He invites him to contemplate, question, discriminate, and then decide what to do. Truth is not forced upon anyone. It is offered with compassion and accepted only through understanding. Freedom of choice is not taken away by the Divine; it is honoured.

This verse reveals that free will is itself a sacred gift. The Divine may illuminate the path, but it never compels the journey. Every thought, realisation, and action becomes meaningful only when it arises from one’s own inner clarity. Knowledge and reflection lead to sound judgment. Sound judgment (discretion) improves life situation. A decision made through awareness transforms into Dharma, while the same action performed through compulsion remains mere obedience. Krishna seeks conscious participation, not mechanical following.

Perhaps this is why the Bhagavad Gita remains timeless. It is relevant in every age and era. It is not a book of commandments, but a dialogue that awakens intelligence through Knowledge, awareness, critical self-reflection and understanding. The greatest teacher creates discernment, not dependence. Even after unveiling the deepest mysteries of existence, Krishna leaves the final action to Arjuna. The ultimate choice belongs to the individual. Genuine transformation happens not when we are told what to do, but when truth becomes our own realisation.
